In the “HOME” series, Niko’s idea is to play with the physical form of an ideal house, then reconstructing it to another form that represent a metaphor of a distorted function of a house.

For Niko, house has two functions in general, as a shelter for human being and as the first environment where they built their character. House also serves as a symbol institution or community. However, Niko observed a phenomenon in modern civilization, where house does no longer function as what he had previously thought. The function of a house has become biased and distorted.

 

Niko’s sculpture in the “HOME” series intend to show that in the present time a house is not a home anymore.
